Medicaid State Plan Amendments

This amendment proposed to memorialize the new income standards for its  optional state supplement program and increase its medically needy income level.

This amendment proposed to increase its Medically Needy Income Level (MNIL).

This amendment proposed to adopt the 12-month continuous eligibility mandate for children, extend the initial transitional medical assistance (TMA) period from six months to 12, and elect the option to require less than three months of eligibility or enrollment in the parent/caretaker relative eligibility group for TMA eligibility.

This amendment adds Advanced Practice Dental Hygienist to the Alaska State Plan under the other licensed practitioner benefit.

This amendment is to provide children under age 19 with 12 months of continuous eligibility in Medicaid, in accordance with Section 1902(e)(12) of the Social Security Act, as amended by Section 5112 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023. Children under age 19 will remain continuously eligible for the full 12-month certification period, regardless of changes in circumstances with certain exceptions.

This Amendment which amended titles XIX and XXI of the Social Security Act (the Act) to require that states provide 12 months of continuous eligibility (CE) for children under the age of 19 in Medicaid effective January 1, 2024.
