CHIP State Amendment Plans

Through this SPA, the state has demonstrated compliance with the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) section 11405(b)(1) to cover adult vaccines, without cost sharing. Additionally, this SPA documents the state’s compliance with the longstanding requirement to cover children’s vaccines under current regulations at 42 CFR §§ 457.410(b)(2) and 457.520(b)(4), which requires states to cover age-appropriate vaccines in accordance with the recommendations of the ACIP without cost sharing.

This SPA provides Mississippi with approval to provide 12 months of continuous postpartum coverage to individuals enrolled in its CHIP program.

Through this SPA the state has the authority to make the temporary policy adjustments for its CHIP program during any future state or federally-declared emergency upon notification to CMS.

Through this SPA, Georgia expands coverage to otherwise eligible lawfully residing, non-citizen targeted low income children under section 214 of CHIPRA.

This SPA provides Missouri with approval to provide 12 months of continuous postpartum coverage to individuals enrolled in its CHIP program.

Through this SPA, the state creates a Health Services Initiative (HSI) to support the Kentucky Poison Control Center of Norton Children's Hospital.

Through this SPA, Colorado permanently removes enrollment fees for all CHIP beneficiaries.

This SPA provides Montana with approval to provide 12 months of continuous postpartum coverage to individuals enrolled in its CHIP program.

This letter reactivates Florida's approved Evergreen Disaster Relief State Plan Amendment. The state will allow additional time for families to complete the renewal process, will allow additional time to make premium payments, and will provide proactive enrollment for new applicants to the start of the month when the application was approved and payment was received. These provisions are effective through April 30, 2024.

Through this SPA, the state updates its existing CHIP Health Services Initiative (HSI), the Reach out and Read program, by adding an additional dental component to educate families about oral health and to train pediatric and primary care practices to provide fluoride varnishes.
