Medicaid State Plan Amendments

This State Plan Amendment (SPA) proposes to increase payment up to Medicare benchmark for most medical professional, non-institutional items and services.

This plan amendment updates the methods and standards used to determine the rates of Hearing Services.

With this SPA the state expands eligibility to individuals under age 21 who are under a state-only funded adoption assistance agreement, and to confirm the scope of coverage under the state plan for certain reasonable classifications of children.

This SPA is to amend the provisions governing Targeted Case Management (TCM) under the New Opportunities Waiver (NOW), Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT), and EarlySteps programs in order the clarify language and ensure the requirements for TCM services are accurately reflected throughout the State Plan.

This SPA provides twelve months of continuous eligibility for children.

The amendment documents coverage of COVID-19 vaccines and administration of the vaccines for children under the age of 21.

This SPA provides Alaska with approval to provide 12 months of continuous postpartum coverage to individuals enrolled in its Medicaid program and increases the income eligibility for pregnant individuals up to 225 percent of the FPL.

This SPA establishes coverage for lactation support services by qualified providers, authorized under the preventive services benefit.

This amendment complies with the federal requirement that the state implement a tracking system that ensures that cost sharing and premiums of a Medicaid beneficiary will not exceed five percent of the family income.

This amendment covers for services provided by a licensed recreational therapist.
