Medicaid State Plan Amendments

This amendment proposes to establish two eligible pediatric residential health care facilities to improve the quality of care for young adults with medical fragility.

This amendment allows payment of medical assistance services delivered to Medicaid-eligible students when such services qualify for reimbursement by the Virginia Medicaid program and may be provided by school divisions, regardless of whether the student receiving care has an individualized education program or whether the health care service is included in a student's individualized education program. In addition, the state included new transportation and personal care service language.

This amendment proposes supplemental payments for certain acute hospitals (e.g., a disaster-struck community hospital) or to enhance access to certain types of acute hospital services (e.g., pediatric services; enhanced psychiatric services in the ED).

Updates the fee-for-service (FFS) rate methodology for alcohol and/or drug services, intensive outpatient.

This plan amendment updates the methods and standards used to determine rates of payment to community health centers.

This amendment is to confirm in its state plan the eligibility requirements for the Medicare Savings Program eligibility groups.
