CMS is approving this time-limited state plan amendment to respond to the COVID-19 national emergency. The purpose of this amendment is to calculate a monthly deficit payment adjustment to ensure NC hospitals are paid up to their full Medicaid costs as projected in the FFY2020 North Carolina supplemental payment “MRI/GAP Plan” after accounting for substantially lower-than expected actual FFY2020 claims revenue.
