Use of Opioids at High Dosage in Persons Without Cancer
About This Measure
This measure reports on adults without cancer age 18 and older who received prescriptions for opioids with a daily dosage greater than 120 morphine milligram equivalents for 90 consecutive days or longer.
Use of Opioids at High Dosage in Persons Without Cancer is a new Medicaid Adult Core Set measure for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2016.
CMS did not publish state performance on this measure for FFY 2016 because only 14 states reported it. Data quality and completeness are expected to increase in the future as CMS provides technical assistance to states, including best practices for collecting and reporting this measure. The Scorecard will include this measure when sufficient data are available.
