Through this SPA, the state makes several updates to benefits under the CHIP state plan and updates its strategic objective goals related to CHIP enrollment and removes an outdated performance goal.

This amendment implements a health services initiative (HSI) to improve the health of low-income children by increasing their access to needed hearing screenings and follow up services, such as exams and referrals for hearing devices, through a targeted, school-based initiative.

Section 1135 Waiver Flexibilities - Florida 2024 Hurricane Debby Disaster Relief

On August 1, 2024, the President of the United States issued a proclamation that 2024 Hurricane Debby constitutes an emergency by the authorities vested in the President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, including sections 201 and 301 of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.), and consistent with section 1135 of the Social Security Act (the Act).

Additionally, through this SPA the state removes all premiums from the CHIP state plan effective July 1, 2024.
