CMS is approving this time-limited state plan amendment to respond to the COVID-19 national emergency.  The purpose of this amendment is to implement a temporary rate increase for personal care assistance services and intermediate care facilities for people with developmental disabilities.

This SPA provides Louisiana with approval to provide 12 months of continuous postpartum coverage to individuals enrolled in its Medicaid program.

State’s compliance with Division CC, Title II, Section 210 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act (2021), which requires mandatory Medicaid coverage of routine patient costs furnished in connection with participation in qualifying clinical trials.

This amendment proposes to add peer support worker services under the Rehabilitation benefit.

To update policies regarding how Medicaid applications may be submitted, the frequency and methods used for renewal of eligibility, requirements when determining ineligible assistance with application and renewal notice requirements and the use of authorized representatives.
