CMS is approving this time-limited state plan amendment to respond to the COVID-19 national emergency. The purpose of this amendment is to rescind the increased reimbursement for gloves used in home services in AR-21-0002.

Increased FMAP for Newly-Eligible Individuals Receiving Extended Postpartum Coverage

The purpose of this SP A is to amend the provisions governing the federal medical assistance percentage (FMAP) to establish a proxy methodology to account for the proportion of medical assistance expenditures for beneficiaries receiving extended postpartum coverage.

This SPA makes conforming changes to the Medicaid State Plan under sections 9812 & 9822 of the ARP, which gives states the option to use a proxy methodology to account for the proportion of the individuals covered under the extended postpartum coverage option.
