This SPA adds benefits for the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), such as applied behavioral analysis (ABA) and assistive communication devices. This SPA also includes updates related to eligibility and enrollment procedures that have changed as a result of the Affordable Care Act.

NY-16-0022-CA

Adds ostomy supplies as a state plan benefit and implements a CHIP Health Services Initiative (HSI) to support the activities of two regional poison control centers and an HSI to support sickle cell screening and transition services to prepare young adults to transition them from parental care to self-care for their sickle cell or other hemoglobinopathy conditions, as well as prepare children for the transition from pediatric to adult medicine in four contracted New York City hospitals.

NY-15-0021

This SPA implements the addition of benefits for the coverage of blood clotting factor, supplies, and other services necessary for infusions to treat blood clotting protein deficiencies. New York's CHIP SPA allows infusions to be provided in an outpatient or home setting by individuals with the appropriate training.

NJ-16-0024

This SPA implements four health services initiatives (HSis) to improve the health of children by providing title XXI funding for nurses in non-public schools, assisting families with unpaid medical expenses for children with catastrophic illnesses through the state's current program the Catastrophic Illness in Children Relief Fund, respite care services for children with developmental disabilities, and State poison control centers.

This SPA implements the addition of two benefits for children in families with incomes up to and including 200 percent of the federal poverty level: Behavioral Health Homes (BHH) and Psychiatric Emergency Rehabilitative Services (PERS).

NC-16-0001-FRTR

This SPA authorizes its federally recognized tribes to share all of the duties, roles, and responsibilities related to administration of the state's CHIP program with the county divisions of social services, including screening applicants for CHIP eligibility and processing enrollments and renewals.
