NJ-24-0002

This SPA proposes to suspend the Medicaid Recovery Audit Contractor Program, a requirement in section 1902(a)(42)(B)(i) of the Social Security Act, for a two-year period because ninety-seven percent of Medicaid beneficiaries participate in managed care.

This amendment is to require a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Case Center (PPECC) to provide transportation to a recipient when the recipient’s physician determines the recipient is stable to receive transportation services and the parent or legal guardian wants the recipient to receive transportation services.

This Amendment provides 12 months continuous eligibility for children under the age of 19 in all mandatory and optional eligibility groups (excluding Medically Needy).

Updates the state plan language referenced in the section, Other Licensed Providers. The SPA removes the reference to ophthalmologists, as these are physicians and are covered under the Physician Services section of the state plan, clarifies that optometrists and opticians are licensed providers and lists each type of other licensed provider that can enroll with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services.
