Cortney Maslyn is the Deputy Director for the Managed Care Group (MCG). Cortney comes to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid services (CMS) from her role as California’s Integrated Systems of Care Division Chief at the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). In that role, Cortney was responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team and overseeing programs for vulnerable populations, including children with complex medical conditions and the Program for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly and Home and Community Based Services. Prior to her role as Division Chief, she held multiple leadership positions at DHCS where she managed policy development for Medicaid managed care plans. She has extensive experience in developing and implementing policies that improve access to care, managing large budgets, and fostering collaboration with stakeholders. Her priorities included spearheading long-term services and support programs, integrating service delivery across Medicaid initiatives, and driving critical health policy innovations like California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal. Cortney received a Master of Science in Gerontology from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University.
