Medicaid Managed Care Eligibility & Enrollment Policies, Processes and System Functionality

Wednesday, July 12th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET.

States are increasingly relying on managed care as a key component of their Medicaid delivery systems. Facilitating more efficient and effective enrollment into managed care plans requires planning, collaboration and technology investment. Please join the FFM LC for a presentation reviewing policies, procedures, and information systems employed by Medicaid managed care states to:

  • Assist Medicaid applicants/enrollees in navigating managed care plan selection and meaningfully differentiating among plans;
  • Facilitate managed care plan selection and enrollment; and,
  • Default enrollees into a managed care plan when no affirmative selection is made.
    The presentation will highlight "best practice" examples of eligibility and enrollment strategies identified through interviews with five diverse states and offer opportunities to discuss the barriers faced and solutions developed in implementing managed care plan selection and enrollment systems.

If you have any questions about the webinar, please contact MACLC@mathematica-mpr.com.

Upcoming Peer Learning Session

Technical Assistance for States in Application of Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Parity Requirements to Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Programs

Registration for Peer Learning Session 4: Documentation

Topic: This peer learning session is designed to help states better understand documentation for their parity analysis.

Overview of Peer Learning Sessions: Peer learning sessions are moderated, virtual sessions that provide an opportunity for states to share key challenges and strategies, and to problem-solve with peers. Parity experts will facilitate peer learning sessions and answer questions, but active state participation is expected.

In the documentation peer learning sessions, CMS staff will present an overview of key documentation requirements, and national experts will discuss strategic considerations that states may find helpful in assembling parity documentation. Registered states will have an opportunity to submit questions for CMS in advance of the session. Information discussed on these calls will be not used for compliance or enforcement purposes.

Registration: Pre-registration is necessary. To allow for a small group experience, participation in each group will be capped. States with multiple attendees are requested to coordinate to register for one time slot per state. We will confirm your registration and send pre-session materials and recommended resources for review.
